Student Hammers No-Guns-on-Campus Policy on Live TV After College Stabbings: ‘We Would Love to Have God & the Law on Our Side’

A student who was on campus at Lone Star College in Houston during the frantic minutes a suspect apparently ran around slashing college-goers gave a brutally honest interview on live TV begging lawmakers to allow guns on campus.

The young man said that as the person was unleashing terror on campus, he along with 50 other people barricaded themselves in a classroom built for about 20. But that’s all they could do.

“God protected us in our classroom,” he said. “We wish we could protect ourselves with guns and stuff. We wish that the law would let us carry guns because we’re legal adults, [to] carry guns on campus to protect ourselves. But so far all we have to rely on is God. But we would love to have God and the law on our side.”

Watch the interview below:

A state lawmaker appeared on “America Live” with Megyn Kelly explaining that the current concealed carry law in Texas does not allow for licensed gun owners to carry a weapon to protect themselves on college campuses.

Just goes to show us how a gun free zone keeps guns away. If the stabber had to change blade magazines they may have stopped him.

      uh, I didn’t see where anyone died…
      read the story.

This just goes to show that violence will happen with/without guns.
Ban knives and someone will run into a crowd with a car.
Ban cars and someone will set off a bomb.
      Ask any suicide bomber.
ok, so you can’t ask a Successful one…

When you are ready to die and just want to take as many as possible with you, there is nothing ANYONE can do-
short of KILLING you as soon as possible.

You can’t rely on anyone but yourself.

This just proves my point…..Little boys play video games, real men join the NRA.

The choice is yours as an American male…You can either play a cool first person shooter game, or put on your big boy pants and join the rest of the men on the Range…..I choose the union that protects my Constitution…..That is where I invest my time and that is where I invest my money….But its a man thing, little boys would not understand.

      LOL! Now THAT was funny.

I hear there’s going to be a new liberal policy:
“No more pencils or pens will be allowed on campus any longer because of the threat of violence these instruments of death pose to students. Going forward, and to be safe, any student found bringing pencils or pens to school will be suspended. From now on, students will have the choice of doing their course work in either charcoal briquette or finger paints. After all, no one has ever been killed with a painted finger.”

If the victims had been trained and armed with relatively inexpensive equalizers this never would have happened. If we would just follow NRA proposals to have publicly funded armed guards at every school and most gun free zones, we would not even be reading this. The cost of adding 90,000 guards would be offset by preventing the current shock trauma/medical costs, funeral charges and lawsuits. We could hire veterans just returning from combat who can’t find other jobs but can use a piece real good.

@Ridemodels – Actually first person shooter games help with hand eye coordination. Our military and many law enforcement agencies use first person shooter programs. If you research the habits of these mass shooters you’ll find almost all of them utilized first person shooter games, and had very little firearms training, but yet shot very accurately, From a personal perspective doing both range and first person shooter games.. I’m above average on the range with basic target shooting, but on a tactical range I’m an expert marksman. So don’t throw first person shooter games under the bridge. Maybe even try one out then go to a tactical range and see how you shoot. I bet you’ll shoot even better than before.

You laugh about those dangerous pencils, but in 6 years in public school, I taught two students who were stabbed with pencils. One happened in my class in front of me. I made sure the stabber was punished immediately, the injured given first aid, and everyone else knew that behavior would not be tolerated. It didn’t happen in MY class again. The other happened in another classroom when the student was in the care of another teacher. Pencils and scissors were items I reminded other teachers about when they made sweeping statements about taking away all possible weapons. “Really? no pencils in school?”

Well aren’t you assuming that on top of on-campus carry being legal, a sufficient percent of the student population would have the money and DESIRE to arm themselves against such threats? These schools don’t reek of disposable income… Besides, who lives in constant anticipation of a threat like this? Such a paranoid society would be hell on earth. and its the fact that anyone there could have a gun that would keep this person from deciding to run around with a knife, this mass shooting……. stainless steel blades are at fault for this, their so shiny and what not….

if there are 2,000 kids on campus and only 2 carry, you don’t know which 2, that unknown could be enough to stop an idiot with an, can we call it assault knife? I mean he did stab several people….. i bet that knife had a black handle……..

@if…..wow. Talk about paranoia. I’m a college student. I graduate in less than a month. I’m a also a CCW permit holder. I’ve been wearing my gun on my belt every day for the last four years. I think I’ve forgotten it maybe six times during my entire time here at USU. Three of the eight guys with whom I regularly study are also CCW permit holders. Utah prohibits colleges which receive state funds from regulating guns on campus. When was the last time a Utah college got shot up? (no, I certainly can’t remember an incident here either….see a connection?) I know that despite the fact that my revolver has been on campus approximately 640 times in the last four years, it has never murdered anyone. “Hell on Earth”? Yeah, the nice peaceful gun-happy campus of Utah State CERTAINLY (capitalized to emphasize sarcasm) fits that description. It is certainly a pity that usually only seniors and a few juniors get to carry (age limit of 21) but it’s apparently enough to encourage the nuts to go shoot things up somewhere else.

This isn’t a bit funny, but you can’t help but see the irony of ‘no guns’ allowed. I’ve often said, a sick mind will find one way or another if a gun isn’t available.
Now, we’ll have to hear about outlawing knives. How do we cut an apple or a steak if the D.C.ers decide to outlaw knives, then clubs, then arrows, then auto’s, etc. It’s not the weapon, it’s the sick fools using anything for a weapon, including their hands & feet, as this guy with a knife did.

How about outlawing drugs that make many of these fools do stupid things? Maybe teach Christian values from early age? But then, what about all girls who abort thousands of babies each year, they seem to have no values about life itself. We need to explore why some people go crazy like this.

If that college’s policy didn’t violate his right to keep and bear arms he could’ve put two in that A holes chest and ended it. Personally I don’t recognize unconstitutional laws or ‘policies’ by colleges that infringe on my rights.

Wow Vaman, your intellect must be off the charts! Apparently you are smarter than Isaac Newton, Galileo Galilei, Louis Pasteur, Michael Faraday, Sir Francis Bacon… and basically ALL the founders of modern science who believed in the God of the Bible. Since you’re smarter than all of these men, I’m sure you’ll be patenting the cure for cancer and aids this week in between posts here on The Blaze. Thanks for sharing your mighty intellect with us!

I walked this world for a period of time spitting those empty words, I know where you are! I was trying to think like those around me, and God never gave up on me. It took me a wasted life to get here, and now I have to tell you: If you ever want to vent about something e-mail me, blast me! Just don’t blasphem the Greatest of all Greatness, you’ll regret it when your blind is removed! If God choses for me to get stabbed, I’ll relish it as my sacrifice. See, I served in our proud military, I’ve always put others first, so I was doing God’s work and didn’t even know it. What about you?

College Campuses a few movie theatres and places that sell alcohol are the only places that are gun free zones in Texas…If I were a criminal, I think I woyld take the College Campus as my soft target because I know people ignore those signs at movie theatres and at bars…So is it any wonder you have had 2 attacks in the last 2 months on College Campuses.

Evil is stopped by a good guy with a gun and CRIMINALS FEAR THAT becuase in all reality they are afraid to die! They are spineless, gutless deranged people looking for fame. They do NOT want a bullet to the head!

THEY WANT TO BE FAMOUS THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE DEAD. GUNS PUT THE FEAR OF DEATH IN A CRIMINALS MIND…. Is that so hard to say? Why don’t we say that over and over and over again? Criminals are afraid of dying at the barrel of a gun!

The ‘policy’ that says you can’t carry a firearm on campus is a clear infringement of your right to keep and bear arms. It’s a violation of the U.S constitution but since this government has routinely violated the U.S constitution for over a century I suppose the college is only following suit because they’re just as ignorant of our rights as the government is. If a private property owner won’t allow firearms on his or her private property that’s fine it’s only when government or a government funded agency ie college prohibits their use is when they’re in violation.

No, I don’t carry on the airlines, as I don’t fly commercial. No, I don’t carry in municipal buildings, as I don’t go to court. If I can’t carry, I don’t go. PERIOD.

The young man is right….God protected them. God means for people to be responsible and accountable. He means for people to be self-reliant as well. God didn’t tell people to be a bunch of wimps and to not protect themselves from danger. Therefore, the people are to protect themselves and each other from danger – the entire reason for the second amendment – it is a God given right and no man has the right to ever take that away or infringe upon that right.

All one need do is calmly and rationally explain to the knife wielding maniac that what he is doing is illegal and socially unacceptable. He will immediately drop the knife and realize the error of his ways. Unless of course his non-Christian religion dictates that he slash infidels with a knife, in which case you are now guilty of racism.

Why is it that I’m finding more and more eerily-prophetic and/or-fitting-to-today’s-news quotes and concepts from a cheesy Stallone dystopian-society flick from the ’90s?

The more I think about Obama and the villain “Dr. Cocteau” from “Demolition Man”, the more similarities I see. I think the scene in the movie where the evil he releases and enables becomes his executioner will also likely come to pass for Obama and his fellow-ideologues and masters.

RJ, the problem is that we have all been conditioned to accept that the 2nd Ammendment has limitations; it does NOT. We have yielded to “progressives” who want to disarm us for too long. It’s time to start fighting back. We must demand OPEN CARRY EVERYWHERE. I REFUSE to become a victim, simply to make some socialist “feel comfortable”.

We shouldn’t have to have a law stating it’s legal to carry a firearm anywhere in the United States, the second amendment is pretty clear on this. You could say the state can make it’s own laws, you’re correct they can but when the policy of the college in question violates the second amendment here is where we have a problem because the second amendment should trump ANY state law or policy prohibiting the use of firearms. IMO
