Linking personal websites is not permitted
For a variety of reasons, linking of personal websites is not permitted in threads or signatures. If you want to link your site, please do so in your profile. Go to User CP in the upper left corner of every page, click on Edit Profile along the left side, and add your site's url to the appropriate field.

Just a reminder that this a completely spam free forum. We will not tolerate it or the members who partake in doing this.
This is for the benefit of our members. If you wish to advertise your website, please do what all other responsible and legit publishers do: purchase advertising. Last edited by admin; 07-14-2006 at 07:35 PM.. |

Just to be sure we're all on the same page, it's perfectly acceptable to share links with other members when the information being linked is not already available on our site.. You just should not link any sites which have a personal stake in. The exception to this is that you may list a personal website in your profile.

OK now I am getting confused.
Photobucket is one of many sites that will let you store images. There are others that I sometimes use (such as imagehosting, theimagehosting, putfile, streamloading) and some will let you store videos. I just saw where a newbie used one of these sites to show us pictures of his dog and the link got deleted. Personally I see where this can get very very confusing, because many pet sites do not allow newbies to post images until they have some minimum number of posts. For that reason, people might regard it as the norm to post a link rather than try to upload an image. This could really be a deterrent to newbies sticking around and becoming regulars. JMHO

The website that was removed was considered a " personal website " and not just a photo hosting site such as Photobucket is. We do allow pics to be posted right away.
Members need to refer to the Forum Rules and Terms of Service which is posted in the " New Members " section for a full view of our rules and policies. Just a tidbit of info for everyone, our own gallery is a photo hosting site and you can upload the URL from you pics right to your posts or also anywhere. |

One time i saw in the newbie section someone called charlie dog, but his post said *link removed, used suspended* maybe he just didn't read the rules and didn't know. Couldn't we have given him a warnin and second chance. Ifs that npt what happened I'd like to know what did. Not to be nosey or anything.

The only times that members are banned for inappropriate links are when they are clearly solely for the purpose of spamming/advertising. If it appears a member just needs a bit of a nudge in the right direction to become a good member, their links are removed and a PM is sent. We have no interest in thinning down the number of good members we have, but we will still act harshly on anything that is obviously spamming.
