Join the industry leader in Internet Marketing! eBay is looking for a very talented and motivated lead software engineer to join its technology team to design and develop features on the AdCommerce platform. This application is used by eBay sellers and external advertisers to maximize their sales through Pay Per Click marketing. This exciting platform requires an innovative development lead to keep up with our dynamic user base.
The team is looking for a highly motivated individual to be the technical expert and the overall lead of a very strong development team. The lead software engineer will drive the technical decision making as well as the technical deliverables for the development team. This will involve managing long term project deliverables as well as driving quick wins to allow the business team to gain efficiencies in close to real time.
Work with business analysts and business users to define requirements. Drive both high-level and detailed technical design documents and conduct design reviews. Provide feedback on architectural and implementation enhancements. Provide technical guidance to other software engineers. Implement new, highly scalable components using a variety of web programming constructs. Drive team architecture discussions while taking input from a variety of business and technical peers. Employ technical expertise to help team members overcome technical problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work in a fast paced, iterative development environment with short turn-around times.
Excellent database and SQL skills including complex multi-table joins and correlated subqueries.
Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and explain issues to a non-technical audience.
Strong web page design and layout skills preferred.
Experience with source control systems (Rational ClearCase) or other similar enterprise tools.
8+ years of large scale, full life cycle development experience (or MS and 6+ years).
6+ years experience developing complete Java-based, database-driven web applications.
5+ years experience in web development, including HTML, CSS, Flash.
3+ years experience in web development using AJAX and JavaScript.
Experience in globalization and localization a plus.
BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
