Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Jim Morrisson and Debbie Harry are just a few of many musicians to be influenced by Andy Warhol.

Some of the biggest names in music of the last 40 years have sought after an association with Warhol thanks to his pioneering of the pop art genre, his iconic status as an artist and cultural figure and his obsession with fame.

An exhibition currently showing at the Lowry centre in Salford, Manchester has some of Warhol's most famous portraits of pop stars including Debbie Harry, Mick Jagger and Liza Minnelli.

It runs until Sunday 25 September.
