9 Months Old!

Elias turns 9 months old today-crazy! He had his check-up at the doctor yesterday which went well.

Weight - 19 lbs. 9 1/2 oz - 40th% (Malik at 9 months was 20 lbs. 14 1/2 oz.)
Height - 27 1/2 inches tall - 15th% (Malik was 27 3/4 inches tall at 9 months)

Dr. Bruxvoort made some comment about my genetics coming into play. I told him he could be the one to call Greg to give him the news :)

Elias is doing well. He's napping in his crib now (some days better than others), loves to eat (although has no teeth in sight), and is army crawling all over the house. He's started to get up on his hands and knees but hasn't gone anywhere yet. He's also pulled himself up to standing a few times on Greg's leg and at a small step stool.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope you all had a good Valentine's Day!

Over the weekend, we attended a Valentine's Day dinner at our church with our good friends the Punts and Gaulkes. The youth of the church put on the dinner each year as a fundraiser for their spring/summer mission trips. We've gone the past few years and had a great time again this year (childcare is even included in the cost of the ticket!)

Malik enjoyed delivering his Valentine yarn hearts and pink rice krispie treats to his friends and some of our neighbors. We gave him a small gift of a new Dominoes game and a bag of gummy worms. He was thrilled!

Rolling and moving-

These days Elias is rolling and army crawling all over the house. He occasionally tries to push up on his knees but mostly is pretty content with the current situation, since it seems to work pretty well for him.

He's pretty pleased with his new-found independence, as am I, at least most of the time. I'm not sure Malik agrees so much since now Elias' biggest goal is to get into whatever he is doing at the time. Let the fighting begin :)

Go, Pack, Go!

Could anything be greater than the Packers winning the Super Bowl? Not really, except getting to watch the game with some of your greatest friends!

We did a little decorating to add to the festivities. I'll spare you a video of the dancing and singing Brett Farve bobblehead figure!

It was a great night to be a Packers fan-

Swimming

We took Malik swimming this weekend at the Country Inn and Suites here in town (they only charge $4.00/person, which is cheaper than the city indoor pool). We thought it would be a nice change for something to do while it's still so cold outside.

He had a blast and after 2 hours we practically had to force him to get out so we could go home.

Randomness

What do you do when you've been stuck inside for most of the week thanks to a blizzard?

You run around as a 'pirate' with your underwear on your head (and yes, he was naked from the waist down)...

You ask to hold your brother and then make faces...

You smile at this adorable face...

It's all relative

30 degrees is pretty cold in November. In January it's reason to play outside. Snow soccer, you say - of course!

Elias decided it would be more fun to stay in. Next year, I'm guessing, he'll change his mind.
