Intro to Kitesurfing. Kitesurfing or kiteboarding, is an intense extreme sport where you glide across the water on a board, carried by a giant kite! This is the first clinic of its kind where we bring a group of 4-9 people together.
The next land training kiteboarding clinic will be held on Sunday June 3 at 1pm - approx. 4:30pm or 5pm at Miller Knox Regional Park in Richmond (right over the Richmond Bridge, directions to follow).
One instructor works with 3-4 students setting up pairs of 2 with a trainer kite. From there we focus on safety, rigging with a variety of kite sizes. Through the clinic, students will understand kite flying which is 90% of kiteboarding.
The land lesson will provide students with all land training including:
Equipment set-up
Safety systems
Kite control/Wind theory/Kite mechanics
Power Zones
Launching/landing
Terms used
By the end of the lesson, students will understand and demonstrate the proper way to handle and fly a kite. From there, we welcome you to book your next private lesson with one of our instructors.
The clinics are limited to 9 and are $120 including lunch and membership.
