SBI Clerk Exam 2009 will be held across the country for 11,000 post for clerks vacancies in the branches of India’s largest bank State Bank of India - SBI. SBI this year has got overwhelming response according to TOI they received 45 lakh applications.

SBI Bank Clerk Admit Cards For 2009 Exam Dispatched

SBI clerical exam selection process consists of two steps:

1 Written exam for SBI Clerks.

2 Interview process after written exam for SBI Clerks.

Final merit list of selected candidates for SBI clerks is decided on the basis of marks scored in above two steps and added.

Pattern of SBI Clerk exam:

SBI Clerk Written test will consists of Objective type questions in following five papers:

1 General Awareness.

2 General English.

3 Quantitative Aptitude.

4 Reasoning Ability.

5 Marketing Aptitude / Computer Knowledge.

There is negative marking as informed in our earlier blog on SBI Clerks Exams. Negative marks or -1/4th mark for each wrong answers in these Objective questions and answers will apply. So be careful before you take a shot at any question. But i guess cutt-offs will be high so you need to attempt more with higher accuracy.

Each candicate for the SBI Clerk Exam will need to pass in each of the objective tests separately as well as score at least 40% marks (35% marks for SC/ST/PWD/XS) on an aggregate basis,i.e., with all the tests taken together. More detailed information about the SBi Clerk written examination and guidelines for the same will be available in the Acquaint Yourself booklet, which will be sent to you by SBI along with the call letter / roll number for the written test for SBI Clerks Exam.

Other books of consideration are Competition success review GK book that costs only Rs.18 and contains latest current affairs and recent examination bank, PO, clerk examination which will give you more insight on how to prepare for the exam., Manorama 2009 GK book (cost 130) can also be referred. For Reasoning any book on puzzles like Shakuntala Devi. Several students buy the R. S. Agarwal series on arithmetic, reasoning and basic English and follow it stringently.

Make sure you see all questions in exam and if you feel that question cannot be solved under 1 minute or so leave it because in the process you might leave question that can be solved in 20 seconds or so. Keep your calm, try to do section first you are more comfortable with, this will give you moral boost, GK questions should be answered quickly, remember to take your Roll. No. on examination day, also note down your Roll no. in case you misplace admit card in future.
