Top 10 Twitter Users of Each Country in the World Based on Number of Followers

You probably have stumbled across our previous mega-lists – ‘Top 3 & Top 5 Twitterers of Each Country in the World Based on Number of Followers‘ which had attracted tens of thousands of page-views. And today, we would like to share with you guys our newly updated list of the ‘Top 10 Twitter Users of Each Country in the World Based on Number of Followers’. For the past few days, we guys have forked out quite a large portion of our leisure time to compile this amazingly long list and we hope you could share it with your fellow friends on Facebook or Twitter. Thanks!

How is this list compiled?

We grabbed information from two sources – Twitterholic and TwitterScore.net. You may think that we merely copied and paste the rankings of users in each country. Well, the answer is no!

When you search the top followers based on a location for example UK on Twitterholic, what you see isn’t really correct. It’s because some people didn’t type in the word “UK” under the “location” section in their profiles, and they enter “London” instead. Hence, the system isn’t smart enough to detect that actually London is part of UK. So what we have done is to manually search for the Top 10 Twitter Users in UK and included them in this list.

We aren’t sure whether the listings on TwitterScore.net are done manually or by a bot but it’s definitely cleverer than Twitterholic. It’s able to detect that California is part of USA and Beijing in a city in China, even when users didn’t include the keywords “USA” and “China” respectively in their profiles. However, there is one downside. Some of its rankings aren’t accurate. Take for example, Japan. Compare the top users in Japan with ours and theirs and you will know why.

Since this list is done manually, there are bound to have some human errors here and there. We sincerely apologize to you in advance if you’ve encountered any. Do let us know the mistakes or any users who should be on the list but we didn’t managed to include them. Besides that, do note that the numbers below aren’t live, which means their rankings may change over time. Thanks a lot and enjoy!
