Most of the issues we are continuing to hear about are from Blackberry users and some users of older (6.0 and below) versions of Internet Explorer.

In our testing, Blackberry OS 4.6 and later seem to work well with the CAPTCHA. Previous versions of the operating system don't work with the Blackberry Browser, but there have been reports of success using Opera Mini. We're still talking with reCAPTCHA about trying to make the entire system more mobile-friendly.

People still experiencing trouble should visit our help desk forum and supply the helpers there with as much specific information as possible about your computer, web browser, and ISP.

Users are having problems logging in to their accounts, creating new accounts, and in some instances making new posts. We're fixing it now. Hang tight!

Hello, all! Elf Team Six has come and gone. Posting is enabled again.

There will be a brief systems maintenance window beginning around 10 PM PDT on Wednesday June 8th. During this period you will not be able to post or modify ads, but you will be able to read most content.

From approximately 11:50 am-12:16 pm PDT today, users attempting to pay with a credit card may have had trouble completing the posting process. Affected users did not have their cards charged. The craigslist elves have fixed the glitch, so please give it another try. Sorry for any confusion.

We're still working on resolving issues from last night's (4/21) site maintenance. Some users may see languages other than English and/or error messages when attempting to post/edit. As always, our apologies for the hassle and our thanks for your patience. In the meantime, we hope you at least enjoy the sonnets...

From roughly 3-4pm PDT, posting and other actions (like account access and forums submission) were not available. However, all is once again right with the craigslist world, and we encourage you try again now. As always, our apologies for the hassle.

RESOLUTION: Cisco pushed out a rule set update to their Ironport anti-spam appliance that has fixed this problem

Over the last week or so we've seen a spate of reports indicating that users have attempted to reset their password, but not received the promised password reset email. We've confirmed that the emails have been properly generated and were accepted by the user's mail server for delivery; everything is working properly on the craigslist side of things.

If you're not getting your password reset email, after checking your spam or junk mail folders, please contact your email administrator, tech support person, or other nerd of choice and have them verify what is happening. Pointing them at this message may be helpful.

TECH NOTE FOR POSTMASTERS:
We're hearing reports that Cisco's Ironport anti-spam appliance is marking the password reset emails as spam and deleting them. We're aware of at least one ISP that has opened a ticket with Cisco about this, but haven't heard of any resolution yet. Feel free to contact postmaster@craigslist.org with questions or further information.

craigslist will have about two hours of read-only time starting 10pm PST. During this time you will not be able to post, but most readable content should be available. We should be all back together by midnight!

During this period you will be unable to post new ads. Most content will be available for viewing.

AOL is sporadically blocking email from our outbound mailservers. This is resulting in delayed delivery of email to AOL email address. Sometimes delayed by a day or more. We're trying to work with AOL to get this resolved, but unfortunately we can't fix it from our side. So if you're an AOL customer and not getting timely email responses to your ads or posting emails, this is probably the cause. Feel free to complain to AOL about it. :^)

We will be doing some maintenance tonight starting at 10pm PST. During this time you will be unable to post. Certain other parts of the site will also be unavailable. Users are advised to watch the lunar eclipse instead.

Users who are using Safari to post their ads may be having problems in the posting process with random white screens popping up. We're working on a fix, but in the meantime, you may want to use Firefox or another browser to post your ads.

The option to repost previous ads in accounts has been broken since 12pm (PDT) earlier today. However, a fix will be pushed out shortly. Our apologies.

Getting scattered reports of "viruses" popping up when folks try to post, view, or reply to ads in the personals/rants & raves section. Users running AVG Active Surf-Shield (an anti-virus software) may see erroneous messages of an "active threat" and "virus found HTML/framer "on certain craigslist pages.

AVG released an update earlier today that should fix this issue, however, some users may need to manually update their software. More info can be found at the AVG site.

Users who aren't running AVG software or who continue to see virus warnings pop up, can report problems at our help desk forum

Please provide the exact message that appears, on what craigslist webpage it pops up, the web browser you're running (firefox, IE, etc.), and the anti-virus software (if any) installed on your computer.

Sorry for the hassles, but as part of our ongoing anti-spam efforts, we are requiring that some accounts that were previously authenticated via phone verification re-authenticate. AOL mailservers are malfunctioning. We've alerted them and hope they are addressing the issues. These problems have caused a general delay in email delivery today. Our protective measures should resolve the general delays, but delivery of mail from AOL users will continue to be delayed (possibly multi-hour delays) until AOL fixes the problem on their side.

Sorry, folks, but images within ads were not displaying properly from about 12-1:10pm (PDT). However, our tech elves have worked their magic, and images should begin appearing within 15 minutes. Again, our apologies for any confusion.
