Notes
: This is the rewritten chapter people. I'm going back and rewriting the earlier chapters to this fic, as I feel that the style and the writing is quite bad and they're not as long as my last chapters, as I have changed to writing in only size ten font. So I'm going for uniformity in this matter. So, the rating is at M, though it is only M later, as I stated in a much later chapter.

Take It In

A young man sat in a chair, seething. In his lap sat an open book, one that looked quite ancient. The young boy couldn't have been any older than seventeen, and yet he looked down right pissed. This boy was Severus Snape, and he couldn't have been angrier. "The moronic idiot. I thought that he couldn't sink any lower and then he goes and does this." Severus' life had taken a turn towards the more complicated end of life. Where he once only had to worry about his grades, having pranks played on him and what he wanted to do after school, he now had something else to worry about. Sirius Black, one of the prized students of Gryffindor, had cast a spell on Severus as a prank, and made things worse in Severus' life. Severus looked at the book in his lap, reading the passage once again. "And who wants to bet that the fool can't even read Hungarian?"

Severus was so intent on the book in front of him, and the thoughts of banging his head open against the table in front of him, that he didn't notice one Lucius Malfoy come down from the dormitory. He noticed Severus sitting in one of the black leather armchairs. It was getting to be quite late, and yet the young man just sat there. Lucius made his way over, curious as to what was going on with his friend. "What's the matter Severus?"

Severus' head instantly snapped up to look at Lucius. "Lucius! I didn't notice you coming down, there's nothing wrong. I swear." Lucius wasn't sure he believed that for a moment.

He watched his fellow Slytherin for a moment. "Right…You know that I don't believe that one bit. But I also know you won't tell me." He knew it was pointless to continue on in hassling Severus, so he turned around and walked off. This left Severus to his thoughts once more. He focused on the book again, and didn't notice Lucius heading up to the dormitory once more. Severus was unsure if leaving him alone with his thoughts was a good idea, but he would have to put up with it for the moment. There was no way he was ready for any of this, and it had been thrust into his lap, so to speak.

Gryffindor Common Room

Four people sat in the red and gold common room. Three of them were staring at the other. His hair was relatively short, and he was laughing his head off. This laughing one was Sirius Black, and around him sat his friends James Potter, Peter Pettigrew and Remus Lupin. These three were rather worried about their friend, as he sat there just laughing his head off about something. The thing was, he hadn't even told them what was so funny yet. They knew that if they wanted to find out what was so funny to Sirius, they would have to ask. When one had to ask, you generally didn't want to know. They weren't sure if they truly wanted to know right then. The only guess they had was that it had to do with one Severus Snape.

James had to let out a sigh. This was one of those days. 'Sirius is never going to grow up, I know it. And I'm actually feeling sorry for Snape.' James got an appalled feeling at the thoughts of pity that ran through his mind. He had never felt sorry for Severus before.

Remus had been reading a book, trying to ignore Sirius. He knew the things that were flashing through his mind. Sirius could have done any number of things. There was almost no limit on what the man would do. 'Oh Sirius…Why must you pull stunts like this? One day you'll seriously hurt someone.' He kept the thoughts to himself, as he knew that Sirius wouldn't listen.

Peter on the other hand didn't look either nervous or annoyed. He looked downright frightened of Sirius. He didn't know what to make of the laughing maniac, as Sirius did look like a maniac. 'He did something to someone again. I know he did, he did something dangerous.'

Sirius sat there laughing for a few more moments before sobering up almost immediately. He looked at his friends and stood up. The movement startled Peter, who happened to have been sitting on the couch next to him. "I'm going to go to sleep now. See you in the morning mates." He then walked out of the room and made his way up to their dorm. The others watched him walk off. This was unusual behaviour for Sirius. He generally didn't laugh and then go to bed. Something was definitely up when it came to all this.

James had been sitting up in this chair, but slid down once Sirius was gone. He sighed after a moment of thinking to himself once again. "He did something to Snape, I know it. And whatever he did, it likely has reoccurring effects."

Remus was forced to nod in agreement. "I have to agree. Whatever he did will not be good on the person he did it to. And I bet he didn't even think it all through. You know he generally doesn't bother to think things through." They knew that Sirius did things out of being vindictive.

"He…He…He…Ha…Has…Before," Peter stuttered. He was still quite the scared boy.

Remus let out another sigh and closed his book. He had nothing else to really be thinking about in that particular moment. "I might as well go to bed myself. At least Sirius should be out by now." Remus then stood up and left the room as well, leaving only James and Peter in the common room.

A/N: Okay, as said in the earlier notes, I have edited this chapter, it is now more uniform towards my later chapters, and I have changed it around to follow the standard, and not have so much dialog. Hope you like the change
