I flashed the file that Eko posted back on page 2, and for the most part, it seems to work well. However, port forwarding does not appear to work at all, and even the DMZ doesn't function. Has anyone else had issues with this?

What happened to the specific steps to flash the E1000 on the Supported Device page?
Please let me know if these steps will suffice...
1. Hard reset (30/30/30) and wire connect to PC
2. Log into web GUI and and choose factory default
3. Browse the correct FM and upload
4. Wait about 5minutes to let FM install
5. Hard reset again
With that reading and prep out of the way I then did the following.
Connect e1000 to laptop via ethernet cable (laptop is set to obtain ip address automatically). Login to Linksys firmware to confirm it is up and running.
To install dd-wrt -
Step 1: 30/30/30 reset
Step 2: log into router and do the mini flash via the web gui. I used-
I flashed dd-wrt.v24-16964_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2-testfor21.bin last night and dd-wrt is now running on my e1000v2.1. On this version, the wifi led does not light up.
I am a bit confused about the file dd-wrt.v24-16968_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2.bin (which eko posted as the official build for v2.1 - is it just a typo that the filename doesnt specifically state v2.1?), as well as kerzenanzuender's previous post which links to the 'testfor21.bin' named file (the same one I am using) in response to noknok's post about downloading a .bin file and it not working (which I presume is the e1000v2.bin file.
Sorry about the confusion, just want to assist other people who may be in the same boat as myself, and which file to download. Thankyou so much to eko for the compile, I've been waiting for ages to get dd-wrt on my e1000.
As a final note, these are the steps I took:
- Downloaded testfor21.bin file
- 30-30-30 reset on e1000
- Hardcoded 192.168.1.101 ip address to pc
- Connected to http://192.168.1.1 (e1000 default ip address) via internet explorer
- Went to admin -> upgrade firmware. Browsed to testfor21.bin file and clicked upgrade.
- Waited ~10 minutes just to be sure
- Reconnected to http://192.168.1.1 and got dd-wrt password change page
- Did 30-30-30 reset
- Reconnected to http://192.168.1.1 and set the username/password, then proceeded to configure the device as normal.

Hi Guys,
Is there a VPN version of the v2.1 firmware to install? It doesn't appear that the one that is offered in this thread supports VPN (mini).
Any help would be appreciated (I may have already bricked 1 E1000 trying this ).
After you've done the initial flash, flash it again with a k2.6 openvpn small build from one of the latest revisions on the ftp server like 17084. See the peacock thread about space limitations and use any generic k2.6 build that will fit onto a 4MB model.

I RE-flashed my v2.1 with 16968 and it is working perfectly with the wifi led on. Dont worry about the typo of the bin being v2. As long as you get the same bin from p2 (which is where I got mine) then you'll be fine. Try flashing to 16968.
I followed all the steps and got my E1000 V2.1 set up as a repeater and it works great, except every week or so it loses its settings and I have to reset and enter everything again. Did I do something wrong, or are other people having this problem too?

Hi everyone, want to make sure I dont brick my router as I might be returning it to att because they suck. Do I use the firmware update tab in administration or the backup tab as it also allows you to load a .bin file?
