Hi,

I just had delivered my 55LW9500 and tried to play movies from Windows Media Player and PS3 Media Server as those were my existing DLNA servers. Hardly anything would show, I then got prompted to install Plex, which I did.

For all of the media types the TV says it supports, I actually find it has very limited playback capabilities and is very, very choppy on my 100Mbps cabled home network.

My XBOX 360 and PS3 have no issues what so ever playing back media of any type via the above mentioned media servers.

What I have found so far with Plex is that anything over 720P stutters almost every 5 seconds, why is this? Can I manually set bandwidth at all?

MKV files containing DTS soundtracks are downsampled to 2 channel stereo and the sound is quite atrocious, why is this?

MKV's I have converted to AC3 5.1 VOB files, some play, some don't, most are always choppy. Why is this?

I must say I purchased this TV because of it's DLNA and "Smart" capabilities, but so far am less than impressed.

Is there anything else I can do?

My PC is a Quad Core Intel Q6600 with 4GB DDR3 RAM, 4GB Readyboost, Windows 7 x64 Ulimate and 3TB 7200RPM hard drive (movies are on there own seperate internal hard drive).

Thanks.

Plex and the LG is not ready for windows 7 64bit. They are working through problems with it. I have to run it on a XP machine to achive no problems.

Its a media server not found issue at the moment but who knows what else it causes.

People with 64bit machines are having success with it using a virtual machine (x86).

I think LG better get their act together. You will find that someone on the Plex forums states that LG are working on an upgrade possible end of July.

I stream 720 from a laptop with plex accross a wireless g network to router and then to LG tv wirless without missing a beat.

Hope that helps us all.
