Don’t you hate it when you’re wrong?

Yesterday ZDNet.com broke the story that Yahoo! had actively assisted the Iranian government persecuting the opposition. According to a blog post by Richard Koman Yahoo! had sent a negotiator to the Iranian telecommunications ministry as soon as internet access was blocked. He supposedly handed over 200.000 names of Iranian bloggers to get Yahoo! back online.

Will StumbleUpon redefine search and blog business in one go?

The social bookmark service Stumble Upon is revamping itself into something it’s founder Garrett Camp called “in between Twitter and Google”. The service with about 8 million users is doing a total redesign of it’s website after it left the Ebay family last april.

One billion views for Youtube, spam included

Youtube announced on it’s blog today they have reached a monumental billion viewers a day. Anybody with a successful blog or website can only dream of such numbers. This kind of traffic is only reached by the real online giants.

This revolution will not be televised

Supporters of the English national football team have a difficult choice to make this weekend. Are they going to watch the qualifier between England and the Ukraine or not? This should be a no-brainer for a true fan but if you’ve followed the news these days, you know it’s not. The game will not be broadcasted on television but only played online. For a fee of course.

I spy

If you like online gaming and hate crime you may very well like the new service called Internet Eyes. This website lets players in Great Britain plug into CCTV cameras around the country. To be succesful in the game players need to catch criminals on the CCTV cameras. The players who help catch the most criminals each month will win cash prizes up to £1,000. This was announced by the Daily Mail today.
