Welcome to Read My Short Story, where reading, writing and conversation all occur in a community style way. This is a site for unpublished short story/poetry writers to share their works with interested readers. Sharing will hopefully lead to intelligent conversation and civilized discussion of each story, its merits, faults, characters, style, etc., which in turn will enrich the writer and aid him/her in developing works which one day may be noticed and/or published if said writer is discovered and so desires to pursue publishing.

As a minimum, this site should offer the opportunity for writers to share their works so that they do not sit stale and unloved in a drawer or electronic file. Writing is a work of devotion which includes love, sweat, toil and nurturing, all which should be respected.

At Read My Short Story, you are invited to put your feet up, relax and read. You are welcomed to join the chat room, discuss and share your thoughts. You are asked to vote and add comments on any or all stories you read, using the rating area which follows each story. You are especially encouraged to submit your own stories for posting and inclusion in our community. At any time, please feel free to contact this site with any comments and/or suggestions you may have. If you are a teacher, feel free to help your students submit.

Please realize that this is a private, non-commercial site with no revenue, but which does have a desire to attract advertisers one day, so if you see advertisements on these pages, visit them and do business with them. It will help insure the survival of this site, our little oasis of leisure in a hectic world. This site does not pay for or charge for any submissions.
