Jean Baptiste Benard de La Harpe's led an expedition to the Karankawa homeland in Texas but the Spanish built a mission Espiritu Santo de Zuniga not far from the former French Fort St. Louis. The settlement became known as La Bahia.

Citizens such as Pierre Tourette de la Riviere Du Chesne, Henry Campau, Louis Campau, Jacob De Marsac, (II)-Jacques Godefroy (Godfroy) de Maubeuf (1684-1730) and many others, who had previously protested against the rule of (I)-Henri de Tonty (1650-1704)- the Italian, now protest against his brother (I)-Alphonse de Tonty (Tonti) de Paludy (1650/59-1727).

Louisiana was divided into nine military districts — New Orleans, Biloxi, Mobile, Alibamu, Natchitoches, Natchez, Yazoo, Arkans and the Illinois. The Illinois Country was located north to Wisconsin, east to Vincennes, Ind., and west to the Missouri River. Settlement was concentrated on both sides of the Mississippi River from Cahokia to Kaskaskia.

July: Don Pedro de Villazur led 40 to 200 mounted Spaniards and a large body of Comanche, out of Sante Fe, New Mexico to either attack the French Illinois or, as they claim, the Pawnee of Nebraska.
August 16: On the Missouri the Pawnee, aided by French Metis and Coureurs des Bois, massacred the Spanish Army. The Metis' tactic was to just shoot the Spanish horses and the armor clad Spaniards were then easy to kill. Only six or seven Spanish are spared.
July: Pierre Francois Xavier de Charlevoix (1682-1761) ventured to Green Bay, New France (Michigan) with Jacques Testard, sieur de Montigny, and 11 Frenchmen, being escorted by St. Ange. They visited the Village of the Malhomines, which the French call Folles Avoines (wild oats) which is a common food of the area. The Otchagras, also called the Puans, formally dwelt on the Bay but were attacked by the Illinois who killed many of them. They relocated to te River of the Outagamis.
Pierre Francois Xavier de Charlevoix (1682-1761) has an Indian woman confirm what the Dakota had previously claimed; that the Missouri River rises out of the naked mountains, very high, behind which there is a Great River that runs to the west. At the River of the Bulls, above the River of the Illinois, which runs into the Mississippi from the west, lives the Ajouez and, three days further, the Omani who are of a fair complexion with light hair- especially the women. It is said they are at war with the Panis further to the west. They speak of a Great Lake very distant from them where people who look like the French, who have buttons to their clothes, build towns and use horses-which they cover with bison (buffalo) skins- for hunting the bison (buffalo), but who use only bow and arrows, live.
July: Jacques Testard sieur de Montigny (1662-1737) is commandant at Fort La Baye (Green Bay), New France (Wisconsin) from 1721 to 1731, and Jesuit Father Pierre Francois Xavier de Charlevoix (1682-1761) is at the Fort. Captain Deschaillons becomes commandant of Fort Kaministiquia, replacing Lieutenant Zacharie Robutel de La Nouve (Noue), (1665-1733).

Grand Portage (The Great Carrying Place) bypassed the rapids on the lower Pigeon River. It took a few hours for Voyagers to carry 90 lb packs along the 8 1/2 mile portage between Lake Superior and Fort Charlotte, Indian Country; a small storage depot on the Pigeon River.

Etienne Verniard (Veniard & Venyard) de Bourgmont (1680-1730), a Frenchman, guided by the Missouris and Osages, traveled the Missouri River, Osage River and the Great Plains, contacting the Comanche, and did not return until 1728. He is also reported to have visited the Grand Village of the Kansas People.
This period of time has been classified as the Hudson Bay Company "sleeping by the frozen Sea", coined by Joseph Rodson in 1749. No attempt was made to colonization, explore or cultivate in Canada.

June 14: Nicholas Roze departed with two canoe provisions for La Pointe, Indian Country (Wisconsin) and one canoe four men with provisions for (IV)-Pierre Paul LeGardeur (1657-1736), Saint Pierre; the commandant. It would appear that the first two canoes are for Posts beyond La Pointe, Ojibwa Country (Wisconsin).

July: The Abenaki Indians attacked the English at Merrymeeting Bay near the mouth of the Kennebec River in retaliation for the English strike in January at Norridgewock.
