SON OF NEPTUNE WAS THE BEST BOOK EVER! and the sequel is called The Mark of Athena, so I'm writing my version of The Mark of Athena!

I

ANNABETH

THE MINUTE ANNABETH SAW THE Roman camp, her hopes were high.

Percy was at that camp. Her boyfriend was at that camp. After eight months, she was going to see that raven-haired son of Poseidon that she'd been dating for 10 months—since August 18, 2010. Gods, she thought, has it really been that long?

People who were on the grass at the camp seemed easier to see—a boy with pale blonde hair (he looked super creepy, like a guy who would kill teddy bears or something); a chinese-looking boy with dark hair and a stocky build; a girl with cocoa skin and caramel curls; a boy with raven hair, sea green eyes, and a clay necklace with beads...

Jason Grace walked beside her, laid his hand on the rail of the Argo II, and pointed to the boy with the necklace, sighing. "That's him, isn't it? Percy Jackson?"

Annabeth nodded. "Yeah."

"They recgonized him," Jason muttered suddenly. "As a child of Rome. Look at his arm."

Oh, gods. Tattoos. They tattooed him, Annabeth thought, feeling queasy.

Leo grinned beside them. "Welcome to the Roman Camp, my fellow demigods!"

"Jason?" A girl with dark brown curly hair and a purple toga-thing grinned from down below. She looked at the son of Zeus. "We thought you were dead!" She took one glance at Annabeth and her face darkened, like she'd seen her before, but Percy stepped forward and put a hand on the girl's shoulder and whispered something in her ear, and the girl relaxed. Annabeth tried not to feel jealous.

"Reyna, thank the gods!" Jason yelled.

"I found Percy!" Tyson yelled happily. He had hay and peanut butter in his hair. "He is not dead!"

Annabeth stared at Percy.

"Go on," said Piper encouragingly with a smile.

Nonetheless, Annabeth was uncomfortable. She was still fuzzy on the whole 'memory-steal' concept. But Percy locked eyes with her so intently at her. Perhaps he really did remember...

Annabeth walked off the Argo II. "Percy?"

The son of Poseidon hesitated. "You're Annabeth...right?"

Annabeth's smile faded. "Oh...yeah."

Piper squeaked sadly from behind her hand.

Then Percy did something that shocked Annabeth.

He started laughing.

Percy doubled over and laughed as hard as he could. It dawned on Annabeth that he was joking.

"Seaweed Brain—Percy!" Annabeth protested. "It's—It's not funny, Percy!"

"If—you—only—saw—your—face—" Percy wheezed, his mouth curved into a smile. He began to catch his breath.

"I really thought you didn't remember me, Seaweed Brain! Don't do that!" Annabeth yelled, punching his arm. She forgot about his curse of Achilles and expected her hand to pain, but it didn't.

"Ow, Wise Girl!" Percy rubbed where she punched him. "That hurt!"

"How could that hurt?" Annabeth demanded. "You're invulnerable!"

"Not anymore," Percy winced. He told her the story.

She blinked. "But—Percy, that's dangerous!"

"Juno said it had to be done," Reyna spoke up, glaring coldly at Annabeth. "And we must listen to the Queen of Olympus."

Annabeth gaped at her. "I know you."

"She was at Circe's island, Annabeth," said Percy. "She and her sister Hylla. But Hylla's now the Queen of the Amazons."

"Amazons?"

"Like the Hunters of Artemis." Percy explained.

Annabeth snapped her fingers. "That reminds me!" she fished a drachma out of her pocket and the mist effect on the water shone a rainbow. "O Iris, goddess of the rainbow, please except my offering. Show me Thalia Grace, Huntress of Artemis."

The mist formed a shiny image of a girl with short black hair and electric blue eyes. It caught her on surprise, because she stumbled. "Annabeth? Percy? Oh. That's right. I'm guessing you made it."

"Oh, yeah, just say hello to your brother," Jason muttered.

"Hello, Jason." Thalia said. She grinned at Percy. "Do you remember what I promised you after the Titan war was over?"

"You, me, and Annabeth: burgers and fries at that hotel on West 57th."

"Le Parker Meridien," Thalia nodded. "Good job. You passed."

"And if I failed?"

Thalia smirked. "Let's not get into the details, Kelp Head. Anyways, Annabeth, thanks for telling me! Bye!"

The message dissapated.

"Wait," said the girl with cocoa skin.

"What's up, Hazel?" Percy asked.

The girl named Hazel looked back and forth between Percy and Jason. "Who's praetor now?"

Reyna frowned. "That's right..."

"What? I thought I was praetor!" Jason exclaimed.

"Percy was recently elected," Reyna bit her lip. "I guess Jason stays it."

"Fine by me," Percy shrugged. "I'm just glad to have Annabeth back."

Annabeth blushed. "Shut up," she said. But everyone knew she was glad to have Percy back too.

first chapter likes? I thought Percy was elected praetor also, but if he didn't, then...IT'S ALREADY CHANGED! :D
