Reading Survey - Tim McCormick

Thank you for agreeing to take this survey / test, which is part of a thesis project.

You will be asked to read two text passages, and answer 6-8 questions after each one. It should take about 15 minutes. The results will be kept confidential, and sent to me anonymously. (unless you choose to identify yourself in the open comment box at the end).

A few things to keep in mind:

1. You should do the task in one sitting
2. You must answer each question
3. For each passage, you should read the whole text, then go to the questions, and not go back to the passage to review. If you want, you can take notes while you're reading
4. In the (unlikely) event that you recognize a passage as something you've read before, skip it, go to the next step, and note this in the open comment box at the end of the survey.
5. Don't give out the survey URL or invite others to take the survey.
6. Don't use any aids such as dictionaries, Web searching, or asking other people.

Please make an honest effort to answer the questions.  If it appears that you haven't, your survey response may be rejected.
