This year’s Golden Raspberry Awards shamelessly singled out Sharon Stone, the Wayans brothers and M. Night Shyamalan.

The Golden Raspberry Awards or Razzies were created by John Wilson in 1980, to balance out the Academy Awards by ‘rewarding’ the worst acting, screenwriting, songwriting, directing, and films that the film industry had to offer.

This Saturday, the night before the Oscars ceremony, saw the unfolding of the 27th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards. As merciless as ever, the Golden Raspberry Foundation's members picked out this year’s winners/losers (confusing).

Sharon Stone and her “Basic Instinct II” sequel collected the dubious Razzie distinction in four categories - Worst Film, Worst Actress, Worst Screenplay and Worst Prequel or Sequel.

John Wilson, founder of the Razzies, called Sharon Stone’s performance cartoon-like. “When a $70 million picture can’t make $6 million, that’s pretty lame,” he said.

The Wayans brothers, Marlan and Shawn, were duly ‘rewarded’ for their disturbing so-called comedy, “Little Man,” by receiving the Worst Screen Couple and joint Worst Actor Razzies. “Little Man” also won the Worst Rip-Off award.

M. Night Shyamalan’s “Lady in the Water” did not go unnoticed either. Shyamalan won Worst Supporting Actor, as well as Worst Director.

The organizers outdid themselves this year, nominating Sharon’s bosom for Worst Screen Couple and also added a new category, Worst Excuse for Family Entertainment, which includeds nominees “Deck the Halls,” “RV,” and “The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.” “RV” won.
