God Bless you for this video! I just broke my retainer ring... and didn't know how to put it in or take it out! I will be getting the part tomorrow and fixing it should be easy I pray! :)

Great video. Thanks so much for taking the time to make and post. You've just saved my girlfriend $70 and earned me a ton of brownie points! I got some tips from this link too. Thanks again. Much appreciated!

awesome video thanks so much for the help it was a terrific, I hae a suggestion though I oiled the black release handle with 3-in-1 oil a day before I did this and it was super easy to sllide because the oil ran down into the collar lubed it all up

chain wax oxidizes over time. it may get sticky in months ahead
@hks85 Good to know something silicone based would have been great, but I just used what I had.
I just did a headlight bulb in my roommate's 1999 beetle for her, I don't know if it's different year to year but I didn't have to use a single tool. The release lever is accessible without moving anything, the airbox and battery aren't in the way at all. No tools, takes about 3 minutes.
@mckean83 You are correct. Mine was already loose, and I want it more visible for the video.
Hello Mr! Thank you so very much for this video. My dad and I couldn't figure out how to replace the "low" bulb haha, but then we watched your video and our eyes were opened. Great vid, thanks : D
@elblackyreinara Glad it helped. They can be a little tricky, so I thought I would share with others. Take care, Scott
