If you are based in the Bay Area and are itching for hiking around
California's wilderness (Yosemite, Kings Canyon, Eastern Sierra, etc),
check out http://www.scaruffi.com/monument/2010.html
(skip the spring hikes that are kind of lame/local just to keep in shape).
If you are interested in that kind of hiking, write back.
In the spring the hikes are a bit easier, then they get progressively
longer and tougher, peaking with the high sierra mountains in late summer.
The guy who owns that website is the most experienced and works out most of the trips
but the age group ranges from early 20s to late 30s.

Note: these are *not* hikes around the block.
Usually they take the whole day and often involve driving and camping out
the night before. In the summer they easily require the entire weekend.
So please no "will we be back by 4m?" :-)
Spirit of adventure and a sense of humor are a must.

Disclaimers:
1. This is not a formal club and these are hikes in the wilderness so don't expect any kind of organization.
2. This is not a group to find dates but to explore nature.
3. This is about wilderness so we don't really want a group of 10/20 people. Each trip usually has 3 to 5 people.

If you are a relative beginner and want to learn, or just want do sightseeing, you are welcome to carpool
and tag along as far as you can. Sharing gasoline costs is always welcome.

Please write a bit about you. The more you write about yourself the more likely
that people are motivated to hang out with you :-)
