Vermicelli Alici Recipe

Ingredients :

Tomatoes    -   1 kg -chop finely
Vermicelli   -   1/2 Kg
Olive oil    -     2 Tablespoon
Onion   -     1 medium-chop
Bay leaf   -  1
Anchovies   -   5 – chop
Cheese   -    4 ozs. – grate
Parsley   -  1 small bunch -chop finely
Salt to taste
Pepper powder to taste
Vanaspati   -  1 tablespoon

Method:

In a saucepan of salted boiling water put vermicelli and boil till tender. Drain thoroughly in a colander. When drained mix well with the following sauce.
Heat Olive oil and vanaspati in a saucepan and fry onion a golden brown. Add tomatoes, bay leaf. parsley, salt and pepper. When cooked to a pulp rub through a sieve replace in the saucepan add the chopped anchovies, stir When hot mix with the vermicelli. Garnish with cheese.
