Harvey Grotsky
Harvey Grotsky enjoyed a successful career in advertising sales before taking a leap of faith in the 1970s when he founded Coastal Communications Corporation as President, CEO and Publisher and launched his first B2B magazine — Hotel & Resort Industry. Designed for lodging industry buyers and management, the magazine was an instant hit.
In September 1983, Grotsky debuted his new monthly magazine — Corporate & Incentive Travel — which focused on “the special needs of the corporate meeting and incentive travel planner professional.” In the premiere issue, Grotsky wrote, “It is the aim of Corporate & Incentive Travel to help planners make their sometimes complex planning decisions more easily.” Even as the role of the professional corporate meeting planner has evolved into a more strategic position, the mission of Corporate & Incentive Travel remains the same today to provide a compelling package of news, in-depth features and destination reports, meeting planning basics and viewpoints from meeting planners and industry experts. Today, Grotsky’s flagship magazine Corporate & Incentive Travel enjoys an audited subscriber base of more than 40,000 devoted subscribers who find everything they need within the pages of the magazine to make their job easier and more productive.
Corporate & Incentive Travel’s success prompted Grotsky to create a magazine devoted to the needs of corporate meeting planners who stage meetings, events and incentive programs exclusively for the insurance industry. Insurance Meetings & Incentives debuted on a bi-monthly basis in 1993. Later, the title was updated to Insurance Meetings Management and again, in 2006, it was changed to Insurance & Financial Meetings Management to accommodate planners in both industries. I&FMM is the only standalone B2B meetings magazine targeted to the insurance and financial services industries. Published bi-monthly, I&FMM reaches more than 5,000 meeting and incentive travel planners and decision-makers.
In 2008, Association Conventions & Facilities debuted with a circulation of 20,500. The newest of the company’s three leading meeting planner magazines, the bi-monthly AC&F is America’s largest audited association circulation pure meetings and conventions planner publication. AC&F is devoted to the unique needs of the association meeting planner and has garnered an exceptional reputation for excellent, timely and relevant editorial content.
2017 is Coastal Communications Corporation’s 42nd year of successfully serving the meetings industry. Advertisers reap the rewards of a solid, effective advertising campaign every time they connect with our qualified audience of more than 65,500 primary meeting, convention and incentive travel decision-makers. With the future of the meetings industry and B2B trade magazines looking bright, Coastal Communications Corporation is well positioned to continue to be a leading publisher and supportive partner of the industry for many more years to come.
