How do I apply to an open position with Lucky Brand?

Well you are off to a great start! By visiting the career section of our website, you are able to view all current Retail Field and Corporate (LA &NY) positions. You can also apply for retail jobs by going to the store.

What happens to my resume when it is submitted via the website? Your resume is fed to our applicant tracking system for our recruiter to review.

Will I get a response from you?

Due to the popularity of our brand and the massive quantity of people wanting to work for us, our recruiter will only be able to contact individuals with the qualifications/experience/skills sets needed to perform the job.

How do you decide if a candidate is qualified for an open position? We spent many hours putting together the appropriate job description that you would have read on our career web page for all of our posted positions. Additionally, our recruiter communicates with the hiring managers to get a thorough understanding of the requirements necessary for the job.

What happens if the recruiter likes my resume?

Our recruiter will contact you to set up a time to speak in more detail, over the phone, about the requirements for the job as well as learn in more detail about your experience, qualifications, and skill sets. This initial conversation can last up to 1 hour.

What type of things is the recruiter looking for in an ideal candidate?

There are a number of them but the few that stand out to us are: Qualifications: That is why it is important to read the job description on the job posting to make sure you meet at least the minimum requirements of the job.

Interest Level: Why do you want to work for Lucky Brand? Did you research the company? Did you visit a store?

Lucky Fit: You know how important fit is when it comes to your favorite jeans. I mean really, who wants to compromise on denim, right? We take it just as seriously when it comes to selecting a candidate. Best advice: be yourself! Keep in mind that we are an authentic, fun, creative, and energized brand, so we are looking for candidates who possess those traits.

What will be discussed during the initial conversation?

We like to keep you on your toes but basically we will ask questions about your current and previous work experience, why you are looking for another job, and why you are interested in Lucky Brand. Additionally, we would want you to have an opportunity to ask your own questions about the open position and the company itself.

What happens after the initial conversation?

Our recruiter will discuss the initial conversation and your resume with the department hiring manager and decide the next course of action.

What happens if the initial conversation doesn't go well?

This is where we part ways for now! The response turn around time is rather quick – about 2 weeks. We will notify you via phone, email, letter, or carrier pigeon. We would always thank you for your interest in wanting to join Lucky Brand and wish you all the best in your career pursuits.

What happens if the initial conversation is successful?

Then the next step would be for you to wow us in person, and demonstrate to us why you are Lucky. There are times when 2 or 3 additional interviews are required. We will call it the "rinse and repeat" process.

How long is the entire hiring process?

It varies. Due to scheduling, position level, etc., the process can take up to 2 months. Please note: All candidates that we have initial conversations with regarding an open position will be contacted regarding their candidacy: good, bad, or indifferent.

What happens if I pass all the required steps and deemed the right person for the job?

After completing the interview hiring process, background checks are performed on all candidates. If we get the clear to move forward, you will hear us say "Welcome to the Lucky Brand team!" The fun is just beginning.
