Russian Salad Recipe
Ingredients :
1 cup each of cooked potato, carrots, peas and French beans.
1/2 cup cooked turnips
11 tsp Vinegar (white)
3 tsp Corn oil
Salt, Pepper to taste.
Sugar (a large pinch).
Mayonnaise as required.
Method :
Cut all the vegetables into neat dice. Put into a large bowl and pour oyer the oil and vinegar. then season well. Leave for several hours, turning round In the dressing from time to time. Do this gently so the vegetabIes are not broken. When ready to serve pile on to a dish on a bed Of lettuce If desired and form Into a pyramid shape. Pour over just enough mayonnaise to coat. I prefer to mix 1 cup mayonnaise at least and serve in the same bowl.
