1Thereforeif there is anyencouragement in Christ, if there is anyconsolation of love, if there is any1fellowship of the Spirit, ifanya2affection and compassion, 23make my joycompletebby 4being of the samemind, maintaining the samelove, united in spirit, intent on onepurpose. 3 Do nothingcfrom d5selfishnessor6emptyconceit, but with humility of mind7regardoneanother as moreimportant than yourselves ; 48do not merely look out for your ownpersonal interests, but also for the interests of others. 59Havethisattitudeein yourselveswhich was also in 10ChristJesus, 6who, although He 11existed in the 12form of God, 13did not regardequality with God a thing to be fgrasped, 7 but g14emptiedHimself, taking the form of a 15bond-servant, and 16beingmade in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, 17He humbledHimself by becoming18obedient to the point of death, even19deathhon a cross. 920For thisreasonalso, God21highlyexalted Him, and bestowed on Him 22the name which is aboveeveryname, 10so that at the name of Jesus23EVERYKNEE WILL BOW, of 24those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that everytongue will confess that JesusChrist is 25Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12Sothen, my beloved, 26just as you have alwaysobeyed, not as in my presenceonly, but nowmuchmore in my absence, work out your 27salvation with 28fear and trembling ; 13 for it is 29God who is at work in you, both to will and to work30for His goodpleasure. 14Doallthingswithout31grumblingordisputing ; 15so that you will iprove yourselves to be 32blameless and innocent, 33children of Godabovereproach in the midst of a 34crooked and perversegeneration, amongwhom you j35appear as klights in the world, 16holdinglfast the word of life, so that in 36the day of Christ I will have reason to glorybecause I did not 37run in vainnor38toil in vain. 17 But evenif I am being 39poured out as a drinkoffering upon 40the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all. 18 You too, I urge you, rejoice in the sameway and share your joy with me.
Timothy and Epaphroditus
19 But I hopemin the LordJesus to 41send42Timothy to you shortly, so that I also may be encouraged when I learn of your condition . 20 For I havenoone else 43of kindredspiritwho will genuinely be concerned for your welfare. 21 For they all44seekafter their own interests, not those of ChristJesus. 22 But you know45of his provenworth, that 46he served with me in the furtherance of the gospel47like a child serving his father. 2348Therefore I hope to send him immediately, as soon as I seehowthings go with me; 24 and 49I trust in the Lord that I myselfalso will be comingshortly. 25 But I thought it necessary to send to you 50Epaphroditus, my brother and 51fellowworker and 52fellowsoldier, who is also your n53messenger and 54minister to my need ; 26because he was longingofor you all and was distressedbecause you had heard that he was sick. 27 For indeed he was sick to the point of death, but Godhadmercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, so that I would not havesorrow upon sorrow. 28Therefore I have sent him all the moreeagerlyso that when you see him again you may rejoice and I may be lessconcerned about you. 2955Receive him then in the Lord with alljoy, and 56holdmenlike him in highregard ; 30because he cameclose to deathp57for the work of Christ, risking his life to 58completeqwhat was deficient in your service to me.
