Royal Challengers Bangalore 185 for 5 (Dilshan 71, de Villiers 47*) beat Deccan Chargers 181 for 2 (Dhawan 73, Harris 47, White 45) by five wickets
Scorecard and ball-by-ball details
Last year it was Chris Gayle for Royal Challengers Bangalore, this year it's AB de Villiers. Another fiery, match-winning hand from him transformed the game in a matter of three overs, revived Royal Challengers' campaign, left Deccan Chargers shell-shocked and entertained a home crowd during one of the most dominant periods the bat has enjoyed over ball this season. Chargers clearly had the upper hand when Tillakaratne Dilshan fell after a half-century, their relatively inexperienced bowling attack punching above its weight. But de Villiers brought them down to earth and reserved special treatment for his South Africa team-mate Dale Steyn in a game-changing 18th over.

Live scorecard and ball-by-ball details
Shikhar Dhawan struck his third half-century this IPL and delivered a strong opening for his team along with Daniel Harris to set up a competitive total, but one Royal Challengers Bangalore captain backed the hosts to chase on a ground with short boundaries. Virat Kohli took over from Daniel Vettori, who left himself out in favour of an attacking spin option in Muttiah Muralitharan. He decided to field on a track that offered some early movement but eased up thereafter. Chargers responded well, however, ensuring their opponents will be tested in their attempt to raise themselves from the bottom-half of the points table.
The ball darted both ways early on, ruffling up the openers, but they settled in well with Dhawan taking the lead initially, dispatching a couple of fours off balls bowled on his pads. He was equally comfortable attacking through the off side, carting Abhimanyu Mithun over the covers. While Dhawan adopted a more conventional style, Harris, replacing Daniel Christian, relied on power-play, heaving Zaheer Khan for six over square leg.
Murali, brought on to bowl in the seventh over, mixed it up well, had Harris in trouble with the doosra and quickly forced the openers to look for a release elsewhere. They found that against Tillakaratne Dilshan, whose succession of length balls found the middle of Harris' bat. He was swung for two sixes over deep midwicket and swept to the fine-leg boundary. The pair didn't let any quiet periods get out of hand, and a three-over boundary drought ended with another slog over cow corner. The 86-run stand ended with Harris' run-out in the 12th over, but Dhawan, and an in-form Cameron White, made sure the momentum stayed with the visitors.
Dhawan targeted Prasanth Parameswaran, making his debut for Royal Challengers, charging out of the crease to unsettle the seamer and taking him for two successive fours. There was more to come, as he moved across while Parameswaran struggled with his lengths, scooping him over short fine for a four and a six. The last five overs yielded 64, and White had warmed up by the time the death overs arrived. He was completely at ease against Mithun, who he pulled for a six and a four before carving over extra cover. He then smote Zaheer over wide long-on off a slower ball gone bad. Kumar Sangakkara finished the innings on a high, sending Zaheer into the stands behind deep midwicket.
The Chinnaswamy Stadium has had one of the best surfaces for batting this IPL, but the pressure of a big chase leaves not even a powerful batting line-up as Royal Challengers' immune.
