A Cure for Lycanthropy or the Longbottoms

I've lately stumbled across a couple of fics where Harry (or someone else) manages to cure Remus Lupin of his lycanthropy and fics where the Longbottoms get healed from their Cruciatus-damage. While this list isn't very long as of yet, I hope that people will soon help me find some more. :)

If you know of fics that aren't in my list yet, please tell me about them.
Don't just leave a link, though: leave a short summary, mention of pairings (if any), rating and a mention of Status (WIP, Complete, Abandoned, Hiatus or One-shot) and in particular a mention of the cure (who made it, how does it work, etc.)
Thanks. :-) And thank you everyone who contributed to this list.

Fics are sorted alphabetically in each category, articles not-withstanding.
NR means Not read, NRC means Not read completely.
# Fics I particularly liked
## Fics I really can recommend
new Fics I added to this list recently

The cure itself is added in white writing (if it would be a spoiler otherwise), so you can read it by marking it with your mouse if you wish. (Provided I know it of course.)

Cure for lycanthropy

The Awakening of a Magus by the-dreamer4. ##
After GoF, Harry suddenly starts to change, both his body and his magic become more powerful as he changes to a so-called Magus as outstandingly powerful wizards are called. Dumbledore and Snape as mentors, close relationship with several other adults. No real pairing though a hint of "friends with benefits" between Harry and Tonks.
WIP. (Unfortunately updates are rare lately.) PG.
Harry can assume pretty much any Animagus-shape. He uses his wolf-form to change Remus from a werewolf to a wolf-Animagus.

Changes by Akinaria.
Post HBP. The final battle reaks havoc on the wizards involved, but what happens when life has rebuilt a little?
Very original story, unfortunately contains one big logic-error (Harry manages to get Dumbledore back from the dead. Why can't he resurrect everyone else?) and all the characters are very OOC!
WIP. PG-13.
During the battle Snape got turned into a woman and is now working on a werewolf-cure. It's not quite complete but it stops the lycanthropy for five months out of six.

Changing Moon by Spydre. NR.
Snape/Remus. Severus Snape makes Remus Lupin an amazing offer that will change the werewolf’s life forever.
NC-17. Complete.

Crumbling Pedestal by Shivani [info]grazhir. Or here #
Harry/Snape. When Voldemort tries to force Harry to duel in the graveyard at the conclusion of the Tri-Wizard Tournament, things take an entirely different direction as Fate steps in to meddle: Harry travels to the times of the Founders where he spends twenty something years, Salazar bonds with him as his brother, after which he returns with super powers and a changed name (Heru Slytherin).
Complete. PG-13.
Harry has a talent known as "spell weaving" whereby he is able to unravel the strands comprising the curse and to remove them.

Crumpets aren't my Style by Marz1. NR
Crossover (Stargate). General O'Neill is sent on a nice relaxing diplomatic mission in the U.K. Of course there's bound to be trouble when he runs into a murderous cult called the Death Eaters, who've somehow gotten their hands on alien technology.
PG-13. Complete.

Dangerverse by whydoyouneedtoknow. ##
Sirius/OFC, Remus/OFC, Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, Luna/Draco, Neville/OFC, Charlie/Tonks. AU. A few months after Voldemort's first fall Remus (with the help of two OFCs) finds out where Harry lives and how the Dursleys treat him. They also find out that Pettigrew was the traitor and that Sirius is innocent. They steal Harry and break Sirius out of Azkaban. Basically Harry, Draco and Hermione grow up together with Remus, Sirius and their wives. First part tells the story till Hogwarts, Second story the first two years, Third story is currently WIP and tells year 3 and 4. Very original story!
PG-13. WIP.
Remus isn't actually cured completely but one of the OFCs has some kind of wild power that allows her to calm Remus in his wolfshape so that he keeps his mind, kind of as if he were drinking Wolfsbane.
The Longbottoms get cured as well.

Dumbledore's Army by BobMin. ##
Sequel Harry Potter and the Spiritus Crystalus.
Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, Luna/Neville, Remus/Tonks. Sixth and seventh year. Harry sees two visions of Voldemort where he destroys Hogsmeade and Hogwarts and now dedicates all his energy to making sure it will not happen like this. He trains the DA as an army, has them develop new spells, etc. He himself is also outstandingly powerful. The story is very all-encompassing; while it's definitely Harry-centric, it shows a lot of characters and what happens to them. Dumbledore is a bit of an idiot at first (but gets better later) and Snape is quite reformed (partly from finding out the truth about the Dursleys, partly from his new marriage after getting found out as a spy). Dursley-abuse taken to extreme here and Harry gets adopted by the Weasleys.
Complete. R.
Harry is a phoenix and at one time heals a dying Remus with his tears. Harry's love for Remus also heals his lycanthropy.

Growing Up Snape by teacherbev. ##
Sequel to
Snape's Invisible Friend.
AU. Harry rescues himself as a baby and chooses Snape as his protector, why no one knows, because the toddler isn’t telling, and no one can see him but Snape. (Usually I abhor AU-stories but this one is outstanding.)
Complete. PG.
Sequel Shaun Snape, Age 8. (Another sequel is planned but not begun yet.)
Harry breaks a jar in Snape's laboratory and to hide his mishap replaces the salamander ash with ashes from Fawkes' burning day. Snape accidentally uses those ashes in Lupin's Wolfsbane potion with interesting effects: Lupin changes from a werewolf to a wolf-Animagus.

Harry Potter and the Dimensional Trunk by Ophichius. ##
Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione. Sixth year. When Ron and Ginny inherit two linked trunks, they gift one of them to Harry so they can easily visit each other.
Complete. PG.
Harry has two Animagus-forms (a phoenix and a wolf/thestral/cobra-cross). He bites Lupin with his second form and then heals him with his phoenix-tears. The combination of the poison and the tears cures the lycanthropy. (accidental cure)
There is also a cure for the Cruciatus-damage.

Harry Potter and the Guardians of Power by teacherbev. #
Harry gets kidnapped by Voldemort and thinking "Merlin, save me" with all his power and magic behind it, manages to transport himself and Severus back in time to Merlin and the Founders. Severus as mentor to Harry.
Complete. PG-13.
With the help of Merlin and Salazar, a Potionsmaster, Severus and Harry manage to develope the Wolfsbane Potion further so it actually cures lycanthropy.

Harry Potter and the Marcello School by Kjkit.
After another meeting with Voldemort shortly after Sirius' death, Harry accidentally apparates to the Marcello School, a hidden school training students to fight by any means. He learns wandless magic, Animagus-transformation, sword-fighting and how to manipulate the elements.
PG-13. Complete.
Harry is a multiple Animagus, his most prominent form being a phoenix. He finds out that phoenix blood is most potent and uses it to deliberately cure Lupin.

Harry Potter and the Soul of the Hero by joe6991. NR
Sequel to Harry Potter and the Sword of the Hero and Harry Potter and the Defiance of the Hero.
A thousand-year-old oath stands to be fulfilled. The war between Good and Evil has been raging on for a millennium. It has a chance to end, but has the hero of the side of good lost the will to live…``Harry Potter returns to the Dursleys care for the summer, but he finds the loss of Sirius hard to bear. He blames himself for his death. Voldemort doesn’t let him rest though, and soon Harry is flung back into his world. The war escalates, and more people die or join Voldemort. The fear of the Dark Lord reaches beyond the wizarding world and into the Muggle one. Both worlds will collide, as Harry will have to make the ultimate choice between what is right and what is easy. For in this war, some things are more important than life or death…
R. Complete.
Harry makes the cure for lycanthropy and cures Remus.

Harry Potter and the War of Shades by quintaped. NR
Seventh year - The scar connection becomes wide open, giving both Harry and Voldemort ever more detailed views into each other's mind. Harry works on practicing the message he gained in Egypt but Voldemort launches the Second War to fill Harry with hatred and anger and to strip him of all who are loyal to him. Ever more desperately Harry trains himself and others to fight, but something is making all of his friends fight each other. Harry must find a way to stop the internal warfare or Voldemort will be able to launch an attack on Hogwarts that will destroy all who are capable of resisting him, including Harry. Through all this, Harry must learn for himself how he will finally vanquish Voldemort.
Sequel to Harry Potter and the Goblin Rebellion,
Sequel Harry Potter and the Curse of Ages.
Complete. PG-13.

Akinaria's "Changes" has an almost cure for lycanthropy. It stops it for 5 months out of 6, it's a WIP. Snape got turned into a woman in the final battle and became the expert in lycanthropy while hiding.

It's quite long, but complete, and archived at Moonshadow (thus no direct linking, which is a bit inconvenient).

Nope, mere contact doesn't count. Else I'd also count Sarini's Severitus-trilogy "Unlocking HP". In it Harry is an empath and when touching the Longbottoms feels that they kind of want out.

Revolution by GreenGecko on Fanfiction.net has a partial cure for the Longbottoms.
Harry's power goes off the charts, and as part of his journey to regain control he finds a talent for healing, of a sort. This allows him to drive the curse partially out of Mrs. Longbottom.
It's the second in a trilogy, the sequel to Resonance and the prequel to Resolution.

A Cure for Lycanthropy
[info]angelmorph
2007-06-25 12:40 am UTC (link)
I'd like to recommend a story for this list:

Plantagenet by HiBob
Rated T; Complete. "Harry found the boy by falling on him. He remembers the blood. Professor McGonagall recognized the boy, even with Harry next to him. His presence would change the future more than anyone could imagine. A completed story." The boy in question is Harry from an Alternate Universe. Remus later travels to this other world and submits to a ritual that cures him of lycanthropy, though also stripping him of his magic .

It might also fit:

Harry changes his name - legally or for the purpose of hiding: When Harry moves to the alternate world he takes the name Lord Henry Somerset.

It's called "Harry Potter and the Sensitive's gift". It's a Snape-mentors-harry fic, where both Snape and Harry are Sensitives, which means they have a deeper connection to magic (only power I've seen so far is wandless, but the whole discovering the gift is the plot, so that's maybe why). It has a cure for Cruciatus, if taken after the curse is put on the person. No cure for the Longbottoms though. The cure is a potion (I've forgotten it's name). I can't see any pairing as of yet. It's rated K+ on fanfiction, and the authors summary is:

When Harry's visions of Voldemort start to cause problems, he is brought back to Hogwarts and arrangements are made to give him extra DADA lessons. 5th year, Snape-mentors-Harry fic. Not OotP-canon. WIP

I hope that's the sort of information you want on a suggestion...

The Marriage Stone (long WIP, rated M) by Josephine Darcy has a cure for lycantrophy.
Remus takes a potion developed by Salazar Slytherin that turns him from a werewolf into a magical animagus. (The cure is explained in chapter 26 and applied in chapter 54.)

Author's summary: "SSHP. To avoid the machinations of the Ministry, Harry must marry a reluctant Severus Snape. But marriage to Snape is only the beginning of Harry's problems. Voldemort has returned, and before too long Harry's marriage may determine the world's fate."

I know of two that haven't yet made your list.

End of an Era: This is a sequel to Unlikely Alliances. In End of an Era, it is Harry and Hermione's 7th year and they continue developing relationships with Ginny and Professor Snape respectively. It is mainly HGSS with side pairings of H/G, RL/NT, and others (non-slash). Hermione develops the cure for lycanthropy, which is a potion that attacks the werewolf blood and eliminates it, leaving the werewolf fully human. This fic is rated T and is complete. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2115193/1/

The Problem with Purity: This is a HGSS HPDM fic with a strong friendship between Harry and Hermione. In this fic there are Pure Adults with great powers (Harry and Hermione) who are in their 7th year at Hogwarts and preparing to battle Voldemort. Hermione develops a cure for lycanthropy in the form of a potion and animagus transformation that allows the werewolf to embrace the wolf but supress the were. This story is rated NC-17 and is a regularly updated (once a week) but completely written fic. http://ashwinder.sycophanthex.com/viewstory.php?sid=20534
