I'm a night-owl too, I try to get to bed before the sun comes up, because I can't completely block the light from the window in the LR from getting into the BR. (For some reason, the BR wall stops 1 ft short of the ceiling, maybe to allow better circulation of the AC.) My cat has gotten used to my strange hours, and doesn't usually try to wake me, unless he's hungry! Then, he very gingerly licks my hand, but I'd rather he'd just speak up.

I hope the liquid melatonin works.

.
Melatonin has worked for us-my boys won't do pills or liquids either-but they do love yogurt. I use a grater to make it into a powder-mix it with yogurt and they don't taste it...

Yes, Willy too - but I think that was part of his "napping schedule". And the whole being "attacked" during your sleep is why Willy won't sleep in either room with his brothers... hopefully the Melatonin is utterly tasteless and works on these guys! I just wish we could understand Ben's agression/frustration better, so we could do something about it - then maybe Alex could go back to being sweet, sweet Alex!

There were times when Willy was just as bad about going to sleep. Though, I was younger and he wasn't aggressive about. Alex isn't aggressive about it either. Sometimes Ben is just a stinker. What's the fun of being awake if Alex is asleep? What better way to wake him up than to pounce on him and scratch at him?

Unfortunately, now Alex is doing the same thing to Willy when he wakes up first. Argh!

But Andrea told me where I can order liquid melatonin online, so we're going to give that a try just as soon as it comes.

it would seem - Ben is at Alex was at a couple years ago, and on bad night is still there... The good news, like Willy did - they will eventually outgrow this phase...only I don't ever remember Willy being quite as bad with this as Alex was and Ben is. Willy, as I recall, would take 2 4-5 hours "naps" a day, if you were lucky - maybe 3, or 2 longer ones. Probably the difference in how they process their own unique sensory issues. But with school starting soo, maybe the processing of getting them up really early, and being busy all day (not like they aren't now - busy that is) will help in getting them to actual sleep sooner... hope so!
