Join us on a unique adventure through the heart of Italy’s automobile and motorcycle culture. Learn about the passion of the great founders of Ferrari, Maserati, FIAT and Ducati. Explore the beautiful countryside near Bologna and Turin and get a “taste” of two of Italy’s most sophisticated regional cuisine and their unique wines.


CURRENT TRAVEL ITINERARY SCHEDULE - May 23 – 30, 2010


Day 1: May 23, 2010 (Sunday)

  • Depart the US
  • Depart the USA on your overnight flight bound for Italy.
  • Meals served aloft.

Day 2: May 24, 2010 (Mon) Arrive Milan, Italy – Dozza

  • On arrival at Milan Malpensa Airport, you will be met and assisted by our representative and transferred by private deluxe motorcoach to historic Dozza, near Bologna. Known for the “Festival of the Painted Wall”, which attracts Italian and international artists, quaint Dozza is considered “one of the five most beautiful villages of Italy”.
  • On arrival, check into your elegant hotel located in an ancient monastery surrounded by centuries-old cypresses and ancient parkland.
  • After a light lunch, drive this afternoon to Forlimpopoli to Casa Artusi – center of gastronomic culture focusing on Italian home cooking – named after Italy’s most famous cookbook writer (his 1891 “The Science of Cooking and the Art of Eating Well” is still widely read). Enjoy a cooking demonstration of piadina a regional specialty consisting in a thin flatbread made with white flour, lard, salt and water, traditionally cooked in a terracotta dish and filled with cheeses, cold cuts or vegetables.
  • Return to Dozza for some leisure time before dinner.
  • Overnight:  Hotel Monte del Re
Day 3: May 25, 2010 (Tue) Dozza – Discover the World of Ferrari
  • After a lovely breakfast at your hotel depart to Maranello, the small village near Modena where Ferrari Automobili was founded in 1945. Ferrari cars – adorned with a black coat on a yellow background, the crest of the old Ferrari stable – are arguably the world’s most famous each a masterpiece of design and engineering.
  • Enjoy a guided tour of the Galleria Ferrari, true keeper of the “Ferrari Myth” and the company’s official museum, which showcases the cars, images and trophies witnesses of Ferrari’s worldwide successes.
  • After a light lunch, continue to Modena for an afternoon visit to a Lambrusco winery followed by tastings of this sparking red wine made only in this area of Italy.
  • Return to Dozza for time to rest and freshen up followed by a festive dinner at a local restaurant.
  • Overnight:  Hotel Monte del Re
Day 4: May 26, 2010 (Wed) Dozza – Discover the World of Ducati & Maserati
  • Drive to the Ducati’s headquarter in Bologna to visit its modern factory and tour the Ducati Museum. Set around an illuminated racetrack, the museum’s thematic exhibits showcase legendary motorcycles such as the “Cucciolo” (Puppy) and the Desmosedici as well as highlighting fifty years of unmatched technological innovation, design and racetrack performance.
  • Also visit the NCR where special handmade motorcycles are made on a Ducati powered base platform.
  • After a light lunch of classic Bolognese fare, continue to nearby Modena to the headquarter of Maserati, fabled luxury car manufacturer since 1914.
  • Enjoy a special, exciting tour of the factory followed by a stop at the Museo Parini to see the historical collection of automobiles.
  • Return to Dozza for time to relax and enjoy your hotel’s facilities before dinner.
  • Overnight:  Hotel Monte del Re
Day 5: May 27, 2010 (Thu) Dozza – Asti – Turin
  • After breakfast and checkout, depart for the lush Piedmont region.
  • Drive through the rolling hills of Asti and its wine region stopping en route at Cantina Cavallotti, producers since the early 1900′s of some of Piedmont finest wines and spumante (Italy’s sparkling wine).
  • Enjoy a wine tasting and light lunch before continuing through the lowlands skirting the Po River to Turin, city of elegant Baroque architecture, arcaded shopping promenades, world-class museums and a refined restaurant and café culture.
  • Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the historical center before checking into your well located hotel for time to rest and freshen up.
  • Dinner this evening will be at a local restaurant.
  • Overnight: Mercure Torino Royal
Day 6: May 28, 2010 (Fri) Turin – Discover the World of FIAT
  • After breakfast enjoy a day dedicated to the FIAT automobile company from its history to its current day launch of the new “FIAT 500” – currently also manufactured and sold in the USA.
  • After lunch and further sightseeing in the afternoon, return to your hotel in Turin for time to relax followed by dinner.
  • Overnight: Mercure Torino Royal
Day 7: May 29, 2010 (Sat) Turin
  • Depart for a morning visit to a local chocolate maker, learn about the famous Piedmont candies and sample some of its best production.
  • In Turin – considered the Italian capital of traditional chocolate – 18th century pastry makers began processing chocolate to satisfy the requests of the Royal Court of Savoy which in turn led to the creation of world renown specialties such as gianduiotti – named after a Commedia dell’ Arte mask – pralines and candies.
  • Continue to nearby Bra to the Banca del Vino (Wine Bank), centre of storage and refinement for Italy’s best wines, for a guided visit followed by wine tasting accompanied by local cheeses and salami.
  • Return to your hotel for time to rest and freshen up followed by an evening Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant.
  • Overnight: Mercure Torino Royal
Day 8: May 30, 2010 (Sun) Depart Italy
  • Depart early this morning for Milan Malpensa Airport in time for your return flight to the USA.
  • Meals served aloft.
  • NOTE: Monday is a national holiday in the United States
