Came across your great article on Lawler-Savage. As TUX NEWMAN I played an important part in getting Savage back over as a “heel” in the mid 80′s. Loved working with Lawler as he knew talent when he saw it. Savage was a true professional and deserved all the fame & success he received over the years once he left the mid-south area. He actually saved my ass several times during my 1985 short stay in the area. About the fans there I still say the women should go out and “rent” a dress!

I am always shocked to think that Jerry Lawler does not book/write for WWE on a regular basis. Perhaps he just talks too much where walls have ears. I will be reminded of old storylines from the “good old days” by your posts and realize that I see the same think played out (badly) on a weekly basis of RAW.
