    Great Jack. Thanks. I have UP, and had all the other previous tools, but only now I’m going to use it…(duh…)

    I have some questions though ;-)

    - are you more or less saying that optimizing for a keyword (or 5-10) on a site is really a waste of time, as traffic can be had from so many more keywords? If so…how targeted is this really if you have something to sell that is supposed to be for a particular market?

    - do you put your posts in categories? I didnt notice that for the examples you gave, as the title of the page just had the post name (and no category) – do you think it makes a difference?

    - are you still using tags for your posts, instead keywords (like AllinOne SEO does)? I noticed keywords in your page source (sorry….I spied! :) ) but I guess those can be done with Thesis…. Just not sure what would make UP posts rank best.

    - And does the linkbait post rank well because you have a linkbait tip at the bottom of your blogpage, so that perhaps that gives your lots of internal links??

      1 – most markets have a lot of content and keyword possibilities. If you are doing a site with that kind of potential, then you can develop a content plan that posts on each topic till you are through your keyword list.
      2 – Yes I have categories for my posts on all my blogs with the best keyword for each category – it helps. Doesn’t have to show on each post but your categories have to be on your sidebar somewhere for google to find.
      3 – yep always use tags for everything I post.
      4 – The linkbait post worked well in the beginning because it was apparently good enough for a few sites to link to. I then boosted it with an internal footer link on all pages which is a killer additional tactic to use on important pages you want to rank well. But outside links are major important.

    Hi Jack,

    Your UP software looks great I have to admit, it’s the continuity payments that kill the deal for me though.

    Of course, having said that, if I were to find an IM/blogging mentor that was willing to help me get to $10,000 per month, then I would buy eveything that they had in their arsenal, and of course I would endorse everything about them as walking the walk, rather than what we tend to get, which is all talk (everyone talks about helping people, but most are just after their next commission).

      Wayne – there’s no continuity in the UP offer. Also, I’ve helped several people get to $10k per month. We do it all the time at BlogSuccess.com. Did you see my post about free 15 minute consults last week? Most of them I do nothing but help people who thank me and go on their way. The number of emails I answer helping people for free is quite considerable throughout the year as well.

      I agree most people talk about helping with only selfish reasons in mind, but that’s not me. My business model and reputation are both built on getting paid to actually help people and giving away my knowledge on this blog for free.

    Jack, I definitely plan to get the UP software, it looks amazing. Right now I’m working on promoting my brand new site http://www.rabbithutchesplus.com and while searching for a list of article directories on Google I found your site. I’m sorry I didn’t find it sooner but on a better note, your post about article syndication really saved me a bunch of time and money. I was going to find a huge list of article directories and manually submit my articles to every one of them. Thanks for shedding light on the subject and posting that there are only a select few article sites that need attention and the rest are garbage. Great blog you have here! Thanks again.

    Hi Jack,

    It’s Wayne here from the earlier post. Thank you for your reply above, and by the way, I’ve been a subscriber of Blog Success now for about one month, and I love the speed at which I am able to put up a blog post. If there is anyone out there wondering if putting together a blog post can really be as easy as you make it look in your video, then the answer is a resounding yes.

    Prior to signing up to Blog Success, I had let my blogging slide, however once I got hold of Utility Poster I was able to create some blog posts easily, which I tend to alternate with more lengthier posts.

    My site is ranking number 2 on Google’s page one for the phrase “chronic tinnitus”, although I’m not receiving the level of visits that equates to Google’s own keyword tool, but that’s another story…

    So, thanks again, oh by the way, I could do with an answer to my question, which is “assuming the blog site that I’d like to use on my blog, isn’t a WordPress site, can you explain how and where I can obtain the “trackback url” and where I should be placing the trackback url on my site?” – I think it’s meant to go on the “edit post” page in a box marked “trackback” but I’m not sure, mainly because I don’t know where I am meant to obtain it from on the original blog site.

      Thanks for the feedback Wayne! Sometimes the keywords we think we want to nail down first are kind of disappointing when we get them. That’s why continuing to get as many keywords as you can is the best option. Others you wouldn’t think would be as good can turn out to be great traffic producers. All together, you have a more robust traffic situation with a lot of keyword rankings with long tail.
