Affiliates Make Cash can help your affiliate marketing become more profitable.

7 Ways to Choosing High Commission Affiliate Programs

What Is Your Goal?

Your success in affiliate marketing depends to a great extend on what your financial goals are. For instance, if you are already financially independent and do not need much income, you may consider yourself a success if you make a couple hundred dollars worth of commission every six months.

However, most of us get involved with affiliate marketing because we need the money or want to reach a high income on a regular basis.

Reach For The Sky: Make Huge Profits!

So if you are looking to make a huge income from affiliate marketing, you need to make sure that you maximize your time by choosing an affiliate program that pays high commissions. Naturally, you need to ensure that you take into account the amount of time that you have to spend marketing the affiliate program, otherwise you run the risk of not making as much as you want.

So you have to strike a balance between the amount of resources (time, money, etc.) that it will cost you (time is money!) to get a sale for a given product, and you have to look at the amount of money that the affiliate program will pay for your efforts. Your goal here is t spend as little time, money and other resources marketing your products. This will ensure that you are profitable, and it will ensure that you have more time available to market other affiliate products when they become available.

What Exactly Should You Look For?

Once you establish your goals and calculate the amount of time, money and other resources that you are willing to use in your affiliate venture, you should begin searching for affiliate products that match your needs.

There are several ways that you can analyze an affiliate program in order to determine if the affiliate program meets your high commission requirements. Looking into these particular aspects of an affiliate program can make or break your affiliate marketing experience. So without further delay, lets look at these affiliate program aspects now:

  1. Is the affiliate product something with a broad market segment? Usually the broader the market is, the easier it is to place your online advertising in a variety of websites without spending an arm and a leg. In addition, everyone is a potential buyer, so this product will provide you opportunity to market it with just about everything you do online.
  2. If the affiliate product has a broad market segment, is there a lot of competition? More than likely, others saw the potential for selling this product, so competition may be fierce. For example, everyone needs a cell phone, but the online store market for cell phones is saturated and dominated by the wireless giants. You can still compete, but competing for Pay Per Click advertising, or getting a number one ranking with the search engines will be nearly impossible.
  3. Is the affiliate product in a niche market? If you have an established client base, you might want to consider getting involved with an affiliate product that caters to a market niche. For example, I have at Dog Directory, which is obviously suited for affiliate products for dogs. I can target dog-related businesses, or I can try to reach people with dogs. Furthermore, if you have a client base, you can use email advertising to reach your email list. Specialized or niche affiliate products tend to pay higher commissions than broad market affiliate products.
  4. Does the affiliate program have enough resources to support your marketing efforts? Creative material, link texts, articles for blogs, sample emails are all resources that can tremendously simplify your marketing campaigns. Remember that the less time you have to spend on a particular affiliate product, the more commission or the more profit you will make. So, be concerned with affiliate programs that do not provide enough resources to help you make sales.
  5. Does the affiliate program only pays you for the initial sales or will it pay you for every sale once the customer gets to their site via your affiliate marketing efforts? If they only pay for the first purchase, they had better pay you a very high commission for your efforts. After all, they could end up with a lifetime costumer, and you will end up spending a lifetime getting customers for them.
  6. How often and when does the affiliate program pay? The last thing you want to do is wait forever before you get pay. Some affiliate programs pay monthly regardless of the amount of money that you have made. Others pay monthly but you have to meet certain threshold. This is crucial to your profitability!
  7. Does the affiliate program allow you to recruit sub affiliates? Being able to recruit other affiliates will expand your market reach for the affiliate product you are selling without having to spend more on advertisements. Imagine being able to have an army of sub affiliates making money for you!
