As the sole founder of eCode, Rohit started the company in his garage and worked in stealth mode for over a year building the product. The company went on to go through 3 rounds of funding raising millions of dollars in Venture Capital & Angel Investments.
eCode carved a niche for itself in the web space creating a whole new category. The company won many accolades, and many suitors along the way to the top with a billion dollar valuation. Even before the company raised any venture capital, it was being hailed as “The Future” by The Business Week. At one point or another, all the top Silicon Valley Venture Capital Funds had managed to have a serious dialog with the company.
Rohit recruited the best of the breed: Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati was corporate counsel and investors in the company (all the other top Silicon Valley Law firms were vying…)
With a vision to ‘conquer the world’ he put the company on the corporate maps where even Microsoft was put into the position of the latecomer underdog (source: C-Net). With millions of visitors garnered through creative viral marketing the company ended up with customers in over 120 countries, and getting written up in local publications in virtually every corner of the world!
As a hands-on-founder, Rohit was known to be always the last one to leave the office – working on an average 90-110 hours every week.
Prior to founding eCode, Rohit founded Tech PeopleNet Corp. – a professional services company. Tech PeopleNet Corp. proved to be an immensely fruitful venture serving as the cash-cow to incubate & nourish eCode in its first year of existence.
Rohit has always been known to be very enterprising: even in his preteen years he had already tried his acumen at a ‘Lucky-7’ stall in his own backyard, and invited all the neighborhood kids over to ‘play’ 
Growing up in India, he had saved enough money through summer jobs to buy himself a motorcycle while only 17 years old (never mind that way back then the very concept of summer jobs in India was totally unheard of!)
The idea of being able to unleash the creativity & entrepreneurial spirit trapped inside all individuals is perhaps the one thing that excites him the most…
