Uva Next chose to bowl v Trinidad & Tobago
Live scorecard and ball-by-ball details
The cricket calendar may be bloated with meaningless fixtures but few can match the pointlessness of a dead rubber in the three-day qualifying phase of the Champions League T20. Uva Next and Trinidad & Tobago, both eliminated after playing only one match each, took on each other at Wanderers, in their last game before taking the flight back home.
T&T's team selection highlighted the lack of importance of this game: they were undone by a lack of bowling depth against Yorkshire, but still decided to leave out their two best bowlers, Ravi Rampaul and Samuel Badree. T&T left out Adrian Barath and Rayad Emrit as well, so that everyone in their squad got a game.
Uva Next chose to bowl on a green Wanderers track, and made fewer changes to their XI. Ashan Priyanjan and Seekuge Prasanna played while Charith Jayampathi and Chintaka Jayasinghe did not.
Uva Next: 1 Dilshan Munaweera, 2 Bhanuka Rajapaksa, 3 Shivnarine Chanderpaul, 4 Thilina Kandamby (capt), 5 Andrew McDonald, 6 Ashan Priyanjan, 7 Jacob Oram, 8 Seekugge Prasanna, 9 Sachithra Senanayake, 10 Umar Gul, 11 Sameera de Zoysa (wk)
Trinidad & Tobago: 1 Lendl Simmons, 2 William Perkins, 3 Evin Lewis, 4 Darren Bravo, 5 Denesh Ramdin (capt & wk), 6 Jason Mohammed, 7 Kevon Cooper, 8 Yannick Ottley, 9 Sherwin Ganga, 10 Navin Stewart, 11 Shannon Gabriel
