Meet Singapore’s newest cinema operator: Filmgarde.
While Filmgarde may be small at the moment (they only operate two cineplexes), the owners have gone the extra mile to give movie watchers a superior experience; one which includes seats with more legroom (who doesn’t love more of those?) right down to ensuring the quality of popcorn.
Even better yet, you might get to watch movies for FREE for a whole year simply by taking part in this contest. All that’s required is some feedback – just tell them what you love about Filmgarde or what they could do to improve your experience there.

Participate in the festivities at the Circle Line Discovery Open House!
To promote the new Circle Line’s role in connecting Singaporeans to the arts, National Heritage Board will be granting free admission to the following four museums on 4th April 2010:
National Museum of Singapore
Singapore Art Museum
Peranakan Museum
Singapore Philatelic Museum
Aside from checking out the exhibits at the museums, be sure to drop by the “I Love Museums” roadshow at the Bras Basah Station. There will be balloon sculptors, live demonstrations by SCAPE artists and more! Beyond Singapore’s stunning urban landscape is a secret, crazy and fun artsy scene, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Sir Stamford Raffles, Little Nonya, Samsui Women and other historical characters when travelling on the trains and touring the stations.

Over 2million in Debt!
Due to a sudden turn of events, the founders of Great Deals Singapore have declared bankruptcy due to uncleared debts of over 2.5million. Initial speculation suggested that the founders had overestimated the financials and overspent on purchasing server clusters in datacentres and optic fibre bandwith in order to sustain the huge amount of traffic from visitors.
Quoted from one of the key personnel in the editorial team “My role is to ensure the highest quality of contents brought forward to our readers, and I was shocked when one of our founders SMS-ed me tonight for an urgent conference… only to find out later that they have decided to announce closure on the site due to the rising amount of debts. I knew something was fishy when the founders looked flustered throughout this week but I didn’t expect it to turn out like this…”
Apparently, it was also noted that the founders claimed they had tried to raised funds over the last 24hours to clear off the critical debts but it wasn’t enough. Due to the closure of the site, auditors will come into the office to liquidate assets and a possible auction of the site to the public is in the talks if the founders cannot find a buyer within another 48hours.
