Lead/Principal Software Engineer EzRez (www.ezrez.com), “The leading SaaS for online travel,” is a Software as a Service company that helps any business enhance its Web presence with intelligent and easy packaging and selling of air, hotel, rental car, vacation activities, and other related travel components for customers to purchase online or through a travel agent. In addition to packaging and merchandising solutions, EzRez offers the needed inventory through direct access to its vast network of travel-related services and distributors, helping to broaden offerings and lower distribution costs while increasing efficiency. What’s in store for you You will be part of a fun, fast-paced and highly collaborative engineering team leveraging agile methodologies to deliver new functionality in incremental iterations. You should expect to lead us to implement cutting-edge technologies including a full open source stack, dependency injection (DI) frameworks, ORM, distributed grid-based caching and the latest UI technologies. We’re also currently using best-of-breed extreme programming (XP) techniques including test driven development, pair programming, continuous refactoring and continuous integration.
Requirements •2+ years of agile software development with the ability to coach others. •BS/MS in Computer Science or other technical degree •Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, wiki, and white-boarding). •7+ years of Java with a deep understanding of object-oriented design, including fluency in applying design patterns and general software best practices. •Passion for technology outside the workplace with experience in the latest open source framework/libraries/tools including Spring, Hibernate, JMS (ActiveMQ), memcached, Freemarker, Tomcat, JBoss, subversion, maven, and Ruby on Rails. •Track record of delivering successful projects with team sizes ranging from 2 to 6.
Nice to have •Familiarity with the travel industry or a high-transaction ecommerce web-site •Experience with a hosted, multi-tenant application environment. •We are global, so a familiarity with internationalization and configurable displays is a plus
