Hello, I have a 615 D3 model with installed software:
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/12/10) std - build 14594
as far as I've seen you offer support for D1 and D2 (from class D) and maybe that's why my model is not working alright with V24-sp2. I get crashes a few times a day.
I please you to help me installing an official D-link version. On ftp://ftp.dlink.biz/dir/dir-615/driver_software/ they say that DIR-615_fw_revd_411DEb15_ALL_de_20100303.zip is the latest version. When I try to upgrade from my router control panel (Administration>Firmware Upgrade>Select file) I always get the error "Upgrade Failed"
So please tell me step-by-step the method to get back to an official version

I picked up a DIR-615 C1 about a week ago from Staples for $40 with plans to load up DD-WRT. The DI-524 I had been using just wasn't cutting it anymore. Anyways, I was saddened to see that the C1 had non-detachable antennas, but this was easily remedied. With a pair of pcb-mounted RP-SMA connectors in hand, I popped off the stock antennas and had some soldering fun. I mounted the new RP-SMA connectors to the rear of the router with pieces of styrene. I loaded up DD-WRT and now I'm rollin with a lovely upgraded DIR-615. I even tossed in some Zalman heatsinks just in case things get a little warm.
Here's an internal pic of my new DD-WRT router...
How can I revert back to the original d-link firmware? I tried following the instructions and it didnt work.... I had 3.12 and it worked fine. This dd-wrt keeps dropping my connection...please help, I have a dir-615 c1

Hi everyone.
The button on the side of my DIR-615 C1 doesn't work (to toggle Wireless On/Off).
It's normal, isn't it ?
Other than that, I was sucessful installing dd-wrt latest from dd-wrt Database, on a DIR-615 C1, and that's thanks to this thread.
For future newbies like me, Remember:
A) After flashing, the usual IP address of the Web-Interface may change, so double-check with a ping to see what it is (either: 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.10.1 or something else).
B) If your computer cannot acquire an IP address,
change, in Advance routing menu, from Gateway to Router, or from Router to Gateway.

I successfully got my DIR-615 C1 flashed. Here's how:
1. Download my router's firmware (dir615c1-factory-to-ddwrt-firmware.bin) from the download page: http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database
2. Used a hex editor to change the end of the firmware file from AP81-AR9130-RT-080609-05 to AP81-AR9130-RT-070614-02. This is the hardware ID that was in the firmware provided on the site the router checks for updates. (http://wrpd.dlink.com.tw/router/firmware/query.asp?model=DIR-615_Cx_Default ; view page source).
3. Used Firefox(!) to upload my firmware using the normal firmware update under Tools > Firmware. (You also can hold down the reset button to get into firmware update mode, but there's no need.) I spent many frustrating hours with my router telling me (in both normal and rescue modes) that the firmware I was uploading was for the wrong hardware (or in rescue mode, not responding after I uploaded), only because I was using Google Chrome on Linux. It worked as soon as I used Firefox. I think it's due to a javascript engine difference.
I haven't done extensive testing, but everything seems to work! I am not seeing the the issues some people mentioned in the forums, like with settings getting lost after reboot.
I have 2 Dir-615 d2.
I am very new to this site so be gentle
I want to connect one router to the internet and then wirelessly connect to the other router which will have my pc and xbox 360 attached. They are both flashed with dd-wrt.
