Don’t look now but there are so called Doctor of Nursing Programs (DNP) popping up like marijuana bushes in the California countryside. These programs are available now in 34 states and DC and are growing faster than mushrooms in moist shade.

With proper supervision, a temp employee from a temp agency can be employed productively as a nurse or doctor. All they have to do is follow the procedures and protocol written down prior to the opening each day of a clinic or office where they are employed. This type process may be the answer to the shortage of doctors and nurses within the US.

Physicians and nurses are two separate areas of medicine. The fact that a doctorate is appropriate as a minimal requirement for a physician should not impact on the availability of advanced, doctoral-level training for nurses.
