Financialcontent.com 10.06 – 03.07
Position: Web Application Developer I
Duties: Financial Content, Inc., is a company that provided financial modules to websites. How we created the pages was by getting wrapper code from clients' and prospective clients' websites (ie. header and footer code sections either provided or manually grabbed from "view source.") then wrapping our solution/modules around them. Thus dynamically creating the pages via a dynamically generated PERL back end.

The majority of the work is in the CSS for the "recent work" section. I would then debug, override, and/or customize the external CSS code in order to render correctly on both IE and Firefox browsers. We used the .mhtml doctype so often found it necessary to override and customize CSS so it would render properly on IE and Firefox. There were also a few occasions where it was not in our power to correct cross browser issues due to some sites usage of SSI which would have to be addressed on the clients' side. I was also involved in updating PERL and JavaScript code and also designing HTML email templates and tradeshow booth graphics.
